29th November 2007: 'Darling’s CGT & IHT Proposals'

The Chancellor’s ‘bombshell’ regarding taper relief and much more!

29th November 2007 Darling’s CGT & IHT Proposals

  • Venue: The Thrive Centre, Beech Hill, Reading
  • Time: 4 to 7pm (coffee from 3.30)
  • Cost: £125 plus VAT. (10% discount for three or more tickets)
Introduction:

This presentation, taking place on the outskirts of Reading, will help you advise your clients following the Chancellor’s shock Pre-Budget Report.

Not only will we explore the options available to “harvest” taper relief prior to 6 April 2008, but we shall also explore the many practical implication of the other CGT changes. Questions will be taken from the audience throughout the talk so do come prepared to participate.

Who Should Attend?

Partners and senior staff advising clients on CGT and IHT planning. Senior personal tax department staff will find this event useful too.

Money Back Guarantee!

If you attend for the duration of the event and are not satisfied that the material covered and points made are directly relevant to accountants in general practice and that the time occupied amounts to meaningful CPD, you can request 100% refund.

Past Events...

17 April 2007 CGT Cock-ups: The things practitioners get wrong!

Introduction:

It is a fact that capital gains tax is not as simple as it appears. This is evidenced by the number and variety of errors which practitioners make . . . and inspectors pick up!

When errors surface they can erode a client's confidence. This can lead to the loss of a valuable client. CGT related matters still comprise a significant proportion of tax-related PI claims.

What is more, HMRC is getting better at scrutinising matters and asking awkward questions. HMRC increasingly use CGT specialist inspectors to examine CGT issues.
